Audrey Yoshimura
Major: Health Science
Audrey is a Health Science major at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹. She became an SI leader because she understands the challenges that come with being a college student, she hopes to help other students by being a supportive and encouraging peer leader. In her free time, she is an avid reader, crafter, and occasionally visits the Rec Center to play basketball!

Genine Tugonon
Major: Kinesiology
Genine is a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Her career goal is to become a physical therapist. She became an SI Leader, because she wants to help students become more confident in their learning abilities and study habits.

Alvin Nguyen
Major: Kinesiology
Alvin is a Kinesiology major with a focus in exercise science. After finishing his bachelor’s degree at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹, he hopes to attend graduate school to get his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His desire to become an SI Leader stems from his passion for helping others as physiology can be a difficult subject. In addition to this, he hops to expand further and build meaningful connections! During his free time, he enjoys golfing at the driving range, rock climbing, and attending music festivals!

Esther Pham
Major: Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology
Esther is a Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology major with a Chemistry minor. After being an SI student for multiple subjects, she has experienced how much SI contributes to academic success and wanted to become an SI leader to help other students achieve their academic goals. In the future, Esther plans to attend optometry school to become an optometrist. She is interested in specializing in LASIK, myopia control, or sports vision but isn't sure yet of which one. Although Esther likes to spend her free time hanging out with her friends and going to coffee shops, she loves to spend it sleeping the most.

Josh Asada
Major: Kinesiology
Josh is a Kinesiology major with a focus in Exercise Science from San Jose, CA. He became an SI Leader to help give students the resources and support they need to thrive in difficult courses. After graduating, he hopes to pursue a career in physical therapy. Josh enjoys working out, cooking, and playing beach volleyball in his free time.

Van Chau
Major: Pre-Nursing
Van is a Pre-Nursing major from Westminster, CA. She plans to enter the nursing program at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ with hopes of later pursuing an MSN degree to become an NP (nurse practitioner). She became an SI leader to help students learn helpful study skills to take on Microbiology while also appreciating how interesting the material can be. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, working out, and drawing.

Ess Arensdorf
Major: Health Science
Ess is a Health Science Major with a theatre minor from Orcutt, CA. She became an SI leader because she is always looking for ways to help her peers and encourage them to learn with her. Ess is fascinated by Biology and is a member of the Ultimate Frisbee team here at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹.

EJ Mauricio
Major: Public Health
EJ is a Public Health major. He chose to become an SI Leader because student and patient empowerment is a deep passion of his. His goal is to inspire and instill confidence within other students to embrace who they are and shoot for the stars! He dreams of bridging gaps in current health care inequities and finding better ways to improve patient care. In his free time, he loves playing the guitar, visiting the aquarium, and can't say no to getting food with friends.

Angelica Saldin
Major: Pre-Nursing
Angelica, who goes by Angie, became an SI Leader because she wants to support students the same way past leaders have supported her. Just like in nursing, being an SI Leader allows her to help others, offer guidance during challenging times, and make a positive impact in their journey. Her ultimate career goal is to become a nurse and join the Peace Corps to provide compassionate care to underserved communities around the world.

Angie Mora-Berber
Major: Biology
Angie is a biology major from Manteca, CA. After finishing her bachelor’s, she hopes to attend graduate school to become a Physician Associate focusing on pediatric care. She became an SI Leader in hopes of extending the support she received as a previous SI student herself. Angie believes that collaborative learning can build confidence and help students truly understand challenging material, just as it did for her.

Julia Desmet
Major: Kinesiology
Julia is a 3rd-year Kinesiology, Exercise Science major from Valencia, CA. In the future she hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician. She became an SI Leader because of the positive impact the program had on her own experience in challenging courses, and she hopes to create that same supportive environment for others. Outside of school, she enjoys crafting, going on walks, and running.

Niobe Villalobos
Major: Pre-Nursing
Niobe is a pre-nursing student from Downey, California. She plans to earn her BSN and become a registered nurse, with the goal of working in either the NICU or PICU, as she has always had a deep love for caring for children. She became an SI Leader because she understands the challenges students face and wants to create a supportive environment that helps them gain confidence in their abilities. In her free time, Niobe enjoys reading and playing video games.

Julie Park
Major: Pre-Nursing
Julie is a pre-nursing major with the goal of becoming an ICU nurse. Having experienced the challenges of studying and adjusting to demanding courses like anatomy, she became an S/I leader to support students facing similar struggles. She is passionate about helping others reach their academic goals while developing effective study habits. In her free time, Julie enjoys solving puzzle games and watching crime shows.

Kassandra Briones
Major: Pre-Nursing
Kassandra is a Pre-Nursing major from Azusa, CA. She became an SI leader because she hopes to offer the same support and guidance she received from her past SI leaders. She hopes to get into the nursing program and become an RN, and then ultimately a nurse practitioner!

Marissa Pysher
Major: Kinesiology
Marissa is a Kinesiology Exercise Science major with minors in Health Humanities and Equity & Education Studies. She became an SI leader to help students become more confident in their academic abilities and create a supportive learning environment. She plans to use these skills in her future career as a science teacher, which she will achieve through a single subject teaching credential. In her free time, she loves cooking, going to the beach, crocheting, taking naps, and hanging out with friends.
